Sophia O’Neal

Program Associate

Sophia O'Neal is the Program Associate for She Should Run. The bread and butter of her work has always been community building and helping others find their power, and at She Should Run Sophia's here to do exactly that!

Prior to joining She Should Run, Sophia led local and statewide campaigns in Oregon and Montana, including helping elect one of the youngest Latinx people to hold public office in Oregon history. Most recently she was a Digital Fundraising Strategist with Momentum Campaigns where she raised over $1.5 million for her candidate and PAC clients.

As a first-generation college student, Sophia earned her B.A. in Politics and Government with a minor in Gender and Sexuality Studies at Pacific University in Forest Grove, Oregon. She dedicated her senior thesis (Madam President, B.A.: Women's Ascent to Power in College Democrats of Oregon) and TEDxPacificUWomen talk (Why 2018 Must Be the Last "Year of the Woman") to examining the motivations, barriers, and public perception of women's political participation and leadership.

After moving between California, Oregon, Pennsylvania, and Montana, Sophia is now settled in Washington, D.C. where she's almost certainly listening to Taylor Swift.
