Get Started Guide:
How to Take Action With She Will Fight
Step 1: Understand the Action Index
The Action Index is your personal library of real-world actions you can take. It’s organized into three big categories:
Get Informed — Learn how systems work, where decisions get made, and why your voice matters.
Get Connected — Build relationships, strengthen your local network, and support your community.
Get to Work — Take action directly—whether that’s advocacy, organizing, mutual aid, running for office (!) or something in between.
Every action is tagged with an icon that matches your Fight Style to help you quickly find activities that fit your style:
From Your Desk – Actions you can do mostly from home or online.
With Others – Actions you’ll do alongside a group, team, or community.
In Your Community – Actions that get you out and about, showing up where it matters most.
Step 2: Pick Your First Action
You don’t have to do everything at once. Start with one action that speaks to you.
Look for:
- Your Fight Style icon
- A topic you’re passionate about
- Something that fits your available time and energy this week
👉 Example: Example: If your style is “From Your Desk,” you might start by learning how voting laws work in your state. If you’re “In Your Community,” you might plan to attend your next local town meeting. And if your style is “Everywhere,” your style is so versatile that you don’t need an icon. Just pick the actions that speak to you!
Step 3: Pace Yourself and Take Care
We’re in a moment where everything feels both extremely urgent and not enough. But building political power isn’t a sprint—it’s a lifelong relationship with your community.
That means you also need to live your life. Care for yourself. Find joy.
You can use She Will Fight to fill your cup by:
- Build momentum with smaller actions you do regularly
- Connect with others who share your goals
- Share what you’ve done and celebrate progress, even when change feels slow
👉 Remember: small actions, multiplied by many people, create big waves.
Step 4: Consider Taking the Lead
If building community power feels right to you, and you’re ready to take an even bigger leap, consider this: you might be called to lead.
Every elected official started by doing what you’re doing right now: getting more involved with their community.
If you’re curious about elected leadership, She Should Run is a powerful starting place to explore your potential. While She Will Fight is a new way to meet the moment, She Should Run has been here for more than a decade, uplifting women’s leadership and encouraging women from all walks of life to explore running for office.
You have everything you need to make a difference.
We’re proud to be in this fight with you. 💪
