A Path Forward For Future Leaders In 2021
Dear She Should Run community members and supporters,
With the first week of a new year coming to an end, I wanted to take the opportunity to address you all as we continue our fight for women’s representation.
She Should Run is fervently pro-democracy. And like the majority of Americans and others across the world, we were horrified by the breach of security and the violence at the U.S. Capitol Building. And at this moment we are lifting up all the elected women using their positions of power to create a healthy democracy.
We proudly serve a mission of encouraging and propelling historically underrepresented women to run for office. We work every day to create a future where change-makers from all corners of our country can see the potential in themselves and step up to fill the urgent need for their leadership in elected roles from town council to the presidency.
In moments of crisis, we are reminded that women are closest to ongoing pain in their communities and are often propelled to take action when the reality of life is impossibly hard. In fact, over 100 were driven by January 6th events to step up as leaders and start considering a run for office by joining the She Should Run community.
So as we begin another year, our mission will continue to focus on helping women realize their qualifications and identify the steps needed to run a campaign. We are confident that it is women like you who will change this country for the better in more ways than we can imagine. We have a saying at She Should Run, if you care, you’re qualified. We invite you to use our tools, resources, and community as you start exploring how you can use public office to make a difference in your community.
Sincerely,
Erin Loos Cutraro
