She Should Run is a national, 501(c)3, nonpartisan organization dedicated to building a future of gender equality in elected office. We mobilize American women from all walks of life to fully acknowledge the systemic crisis of gender inequality and the unique role they play in addressing the challenges of the 21st century. About the Role
The Senior Program Manager is a meticulous project manager with superb people management skills who executes and contributes to the growth of all She Should Run digital and in-person programming. Reporting to the Director of Programs, the Senior Program Manager is responsible for managing all program interns and lead volunteers and has excellent delegation skills. This role requires high emotional intelligence, strong attention to detail, and a commitment to collaboration and cross-departmental initiatives. We are seeking a self-starter, with a desire and talent for building systems and processes to ensure our community is supported with efficient and impactful programming. They also possess digital programming experience and tech skills, such as organizing webinars and utilizing email marketing tools, such as MailChimp. Finally, they have a passion to implement our vision of seeing 250,000 women running for office by 2030.
Duties and Responsibilities
Overall Program Management (25%)
- Serve as a thought partner to the Programs Director and contribute regular ideas to support She Should Run’s growing online community
- Champion She Should Run’s commitment to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion and ensure intersectionality plays a role in program strategy and implementation
- Contribute to building partnerships and relationships to strengthen existing and future programs
- Regularly report on and track program KPIs, utilizing data driven decision making to inform current and future program priorities
- Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for all regular program implementation and processes
- Perform other duties and tasks as required to maintain quality relationships with all our partners and customers and/or duties and tasks needed to drive the vision, mission, and values of She Should Run
Volunteer & People Management (25%)
- Manage all program-related volunteers, including recruitment, selection, training, motivation, and recognition, which includes 10 Group Leaders and 10 Affinity Group Moderators
- Hire and manage all program interns, which includes 1-3 interns per year
- Develop and update all volunteer and intern training and management resources on an annual basis at a minimum
- Ensure interns receive regular feedback and are challenged and fully utilized over the course of their internship
- Ensure volunteers receive clear expectations in alignment with their desire to serve the organization and that they are satisfied with their volunteer role
- Report on volunteer and intern accomplishments and contributions to overall program KPIs
Digital Event Management (25%)
- Serve as the primary point of contact for all digital program events, including Webinars, Online Happy Hours, and Ask Me Anything sessions
- Manage attendance and share details with the Programs Director and Presenters to ensure quality programming
- Manage all logistics, including event marketing in partnership with the Communications Team and tech set-up – such as Zoom
- Research & recruit speakers and presenters, keeping in mind DEI principals
- Manage speakers and presenters, including communications, logistics support, recognition, and engagement
- Manage participant data collection, including quantitative and quantitative data, such as surveys
- Ensure all data for program KPIs is collected and captured from digital events
Program Content Creation & Marketing (25%)
- Oversee all program-related content creation, primarily the weekly digest, blogs, website & social content and work with Communications Team to message and disseminate where appropriate
- Distribute program-related communications through email marketing tool, Mailchimp
- Collaborate with the Programs Director and Communications Director to create and maintain an annual content calendar and schedule for Program that aligns with the organization’s overall external communications
- Collaborate with the Communications Team to conduct regular list management and maintenance to ensure subscribers are receiving content most relevant to them, and that SSR is curating content thoughtfully based on the recipient
Requirements and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree (marketing, advertising, communications, or related field preferred) and a minimum of 4 years of experience working in a fast-paced environment in the digital program or events management space
- Minimum 2 years of experience managing people, which can include direct reports, interns, or volunteers
- Strong volunteer management, motivation, and recognition skills
- Exceptional attention to detail and ability to convey precise step-by-step instructions
- Demonstrates in-depth knowledge and understanding of email marketing platforms, specifically MailChimp is desired
- Solid foundation and understanding of United States politics and civic engagement
- Experience updating website content, specifically WordPress is desired
- Positive attitude and ability to identify and respond appropriately to potential negative situations
- Ability to work independently and demonstrate flexibility in thinking and responding to challenging situations
- Advanced skills using multiple software platforms, including Asana, Google Suite, Salesforce, and Slack
Salary Range – $70-$85K
