About She Should Run
She Should Run™ is an online nomination tool and resource center that asks women to consider running for public office.
She Should Run members are a community of women leaders at varying stages of their political lives.
Who Do You Know?
A majority of elected women in the state legislature report that an "ask" influenced their decision to run.* She Should Run provides members with the motivation and resources they need to make an informed decision. Ask a woman to run for office through She Should Run, and become part of a movement to forge real change in our country’s political landscape.
Think About It:
Women run for office because they are asked. Women are 50% less likely than men to seriously consider running for office, and 30% less likely to actually run. Women are one-third less likely than men to view themselves as qualified to run for office, and they are one-third less likley to be asked to run. However, research shows that when women do run, they win at equal rates to men.** The key to increasing the number of women in political power is asking more women to run.
There are over 500,000 elected positions in America. Women should hold 250,000 of these positions but only hold fraction. We can change this.
She Should Run is an award-winning program of the Women’s Campaign Forum (WCF). Founded in 1974, WCF is the only non-partisan political venture capitalist organization supporting women leaders at all levels of office, during the earliest stages of their public life. We help She Should Run members to lay the groundwork for a successful run at all levels of public office—from School Board to Congress—regardless of political party.
